Tasikoki Wildlife Rescue Center

Tasikoki Wildlife Rescue Center

Tasikoki Wildlife Rescue Centre is located on North Sulawesi, Indonesia.  Flying Lion Air from Denpasar's Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Indonesia it's about a five hour flight to Manado's Sam Ratulangi International Airpost with a transfer at Makassar's Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.  We toured the wildlife center on the day that we changed from Lebeh Straights side of the island to the Bunaken side of North Sulawesi.  The Port of Bitung in North Sulawesi is a hotspot for the global wildlife smuggling due to it's proximity to the Philippine Islands.  Tasikoki rescues the animals and attempts to rehabilitate them for reintroduction to the wild.  A two hour tour of the facility is free but they do ask for a donation to aid in the care of the animals - appointment required.  They also have a volunteer program to help care for the animals - see their website for more information.

The Non-Profit Center is staffed with volunteer Veterinarians to care for the animal's welfare aided by a staff of Indonesian and International volunteers.  Tasikoki is located near the sea with stunning ocean views from it's Yoga Studio.
